See the beautiful seahorse, as pretty as can be.

One of the most amazing fish living under the sea.

The head of a dragon, a tail with a grip,

which holds them from beneath.

Eyes that turn from side to side and a mouth that has no teeth.

Yet the special thing about seahorses is how they find romance.

When the moon is full and the stars are bright,

mom and dad circle dance.

When the time comes to have babies,

it’s the daddy who carries the young.

They grow in his pouch for four short weeks,

and then out come his daughters and sons.

With a push from daddy’s tummy, they squirt into the sea.

Then swim around in the new world they’ve found,

looking as cute as can be.
